My contribution for the Inspiration Challenge, although no longer 2024, is this quick-ish sketch from last year's summer holiday. After enjoying a couple of pints in a "paradise pocket" (my wife coined this new term), the wonderful beer garden of The Fire Engine up the road, we started on the walk back to Penzance. Just after noon and not the best time for photos, but the mist did its best to improve the conditions. Haven't painted much lately due to moving, but fiddling about with the sketch book now and then, focusing on getting colours and shapes right. (Also, was inspired to post this due to Edo's wonderful rendition of the same place in one of his latest posts in the socials.)

I love the sketchy nature of this and the fact that you gave the sea it's shallow brownness so well. It really hangs together as a scene.

I really like your sketch, Eric. It has a freshness and spontaneity that appeals to me. The colours and St. Michael's Mount in the distance are well captured. Unfortunately I've never been there, it must be a fantastic place to paint.
